Facebook has been constantly in the verge of making changes and adding new features to their social media platform. Here are some of the recent changes that might not be well noticed by all. Knowing on these features could make your effort to reach your fans/followers will be great.
Additional Permissions
Tagging Ability:
People can tag photos posted by your Facebook page
You can enable the option to allow photo tagging for photos uploaded to your Page by following these instructions:
1. At the top of your Page, click Edit Page
2. Select Manage Permissions
3. Check the box labeled People can tag photos posted by [your Page name]
Check this on Facebook Help Center
Post privacy gating:
Byenabling the Post privacy gating Settings, you can choose a targeted audience every time you post an update on your Page. Nobody outside of the target audience will be able to see the posts.
However, the post will be seen in your page timeline as usual.
Changes on Facebook Page Notifications
Facebook has rolled out a new feature for users to opt in to receive notifications every time a page makes a post.
If you like a page and enable 'Get Notifications', you will receive a notification similar to friends posts/messages on your Notifications Inbox.
Show in News Feed
If this option is enabled, the posts by the pages you like will be listed on your 'News Feed'
Facebook Questions Feature
Questions feature is not available for profiles now. Whereas it is available for FB pages still. Click the + sign next to Offer, Event on the page you admin to explore the Questions feature.

Instagram web profiles

Recently, Instagram rolled out web profiles for their users publicly.
Here are some of the notable information on the release.
- Instagram web profiles has a similar look to the Facebook profiles/pages with a header of some of the recent photos from your profile. This will be randomly chosen by Instagram and you don't have control on the images selected.
- The URL to view your web profile is simple. http://www.instagram.com/username - username is the username of the Instagram profile that you want to view.
- Though this has been released publicly, there might be some profiles that are not available. It will be updated in the coming week
- If your photos are set to public, anyone will be able to see your profile. make sure your turn your photos public if you want to be visible on the web.
- Importantly, the web version doesn't have the options neither to create an Instagram account or post photos via web.

Linkedin company pages - A new look and features update!

LinkedIn recently changed the look for their company pages with new features and rolled out the changes to all companies. We apprised of the LinkedIn update earlier. SocialNetGate's LinkedIn page has made use of these feature updates by LinkedIn.
Digging further on the feature updates, some of the notable changes are explained below:
1. Header Image
- The image should be either of these 3 formats - PNG, JPEG, or GIF;
- The maximum size of the image file should be 2 MB.
- The recommended image dimensions are 646x220 pixels. If not, the image needs to be cropped of that dimension/proportion while uploading to the page.
